Tears of Joy
This morning I was struck deeply with God's kindness to me, amazed at what he has done in my life. I pray you can see this in your own life.
God speaks to my heart
Through his people
Through his word
Amidst my fallen state
Not holding my blindness against me
I weep with joy
Gratitude takes to my heart
The hound of heaven has pursued ME
He has sought ME out
I have nothing to give
I’m a wandering wretch
Habitually initially running from God in distress
I’m blind to my mess
Fearful beyond words
Yet I’ve seen God teach my wandering heart
I cry because of the total gift he has given
I understand his word more today than before
Less terrified that I am the next to be destroyed
He has grown my heart to read the story of his faithfulness
Not just the destruction out of impulsive rage that I saw before
I see and am more confident that he is guiding my steps as I go along
Not just having to wait 'til I’m through it to see his work
Growing in confidence of his blessing
Learning to discern and rebuke that battering of the enemy
Tears of joy to a gracious savior
Who doesn’t let go of my heart
