Fear vs. Freedom
So yesterday I was struggling to keep perspective...ok, I struggle most days, to be honest. I can get caught up with forgetting that God is good and is at work. This encouraged me- that though things are looking crazy in the world from a human perspective, God is on his throne! I can understand why people, even Christians, are tempted to shut themselves off from the world and ignore the massive amounts of suffering. I'm tempted to as well- there is so much pain and if I don't have a perspective that God is sovereign over it, I feel like I might as well just try hide away from it all!
Anyway, about the picture...I come back to this book again and again. I was driving to South Dakota about three years ago and thinking about the lessons that Pastor Barry taught on Sonship. Rose Marie Miller's testimony was among the material. I remember reading that she lived in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. Just for fun, I called information and asked for Jenkintown, PA and for Rose Marie Miller. They connected me and she answered her phone! I told her how important her testimony was too me and how it had encouraged me so deeply. She was very kind and told me she would send me her book and bible study. (Unfortunately, I can't find the bible study online.) She also encouraged me to come to London for the Prayer and Evangelism conference. I honestly doubted I'd ever get to go, but last summer I did! Wow!!
This book helps remind me of the freedom I have in Christ, not to live as an orphan but as a daughter that is delighted in. This is not because of my performance but because of what Christ has done for me. My heart needs to be reminded of again and again!!
Blessings!
